About the General Public Waitlist for ADA Paratransit
This system allows individuals who are not eligible for Paratransit service the opportunity to request that their name be added to a waitlist. When space becomes available, waitlisted riders may be contacted and given the ability to schedule a ride using ADA Paratransit.
How the Waitlist Works
- Placement on the waitlist does not guarantee a scheduled ride.
- After ADA Paratransit rides have been scheduled, any additional vehicle capacity may be used to accommodate the General Public Waitlist.
- Any openings that are offered to waitlisted riders are on a first-requested, space-available basis.
- Waitlisted riders may be contacted on short notice should a cancellation occur and an opening becomes available.
Service Availability
Certified ADA Paratransit riders will always receive first priority for all trip scheduling. Due to the nature of priority scheduling, waitlisted riders who receive an open slot may be bumped to accommodate a certified Paratransit ride.
Trips for waitlisted riders are:
- First-come, first-serve
- Not guaranteed
- Subject to availability
- Available only within the established service area and service hours
The General Public Waitlist will be available on a trial basis. After a 60 day period YCT will re-evaluate how the system is functioning and make any changes deemed necessary.
YCT reserves the right to adjust, limit, suspend, or discontinue General Public Waitlist trips at any time due to operational needs, capacity constraints, safety concerns, or policy changes.
