Moving Forward Together

BUILDING A STRONGER, FINANCIALLY SUSTAINABLE TRANSIT SYSTEM

New fare system and service adjustments will be in effect September 1st, 2026

Progress means building on what works while preparing for what’s next.
Through investments in new buses, technology, facilities, and infrastructure across the county, over the last decade YCT has transformed into a modern transit network.

We’re proud of the system we’ve built with your help, but during that same time, operational costs have continued to rise. The cost of fuel, labor, insurance, purchasing buses and even basic materials and service expenses have doubled over the last few years and still costs continue to climb. Meanwhile, federal, state, and local revenue has remained flat or declined.
Without a stable local source of funding to provide a match for grant dollars, changes are necessary to keep YCT operating and protect the essential services provided to our community long-term.

YCT is taking public comment on the fare policy and service adjustments through this online open house until August 21,2026. Please visit the Opportunities to Comment page to share your thoughts.
