CREATING A TRANSIT SYSTEM THAT WORKS FOR YOU
We’re making changes to create a more connected and financially sound transit system. Some of these changes you’ve already seen like adjusted commuter routes, and Saturday service along Highway 99W. Now we’re focusing on making sure our transit system is not only streamlined and efficient, but also keeps our local community more connected than ever. We plan to accomplish this by implementing enhancements, which go into effect on September 1st, in two main areas: fixed routes and demand response services.
FIXED ROUTES – WHAT’S CHANGING
LOCAL ROUTES are being overhauled to improve efficiency and reduce travel time while also increasing access to local schools, neighborhoods, and shopping centers.
COMMUTER ROUTES are receiving route adjustments locally in an effort to create convenient transfers to the other commuter routes and improve connections in Downtown McMinnville.
Use the interactive map below to see how local and commuter routes are changing and learn how these changes may impact your trips.
DEMAND RESPONSE SERVICE – WHAT’S CHANGING
GOLOCAL: On September 1st, you’ll see a new flexible route in Newberg called GoLocal – a fareless service operating up to four days a week. This service will provide a per-determined route while also allowing riders to schedule a pick up or drop off within four different deviation zones.
GOWELL: Newberg’s existing demand response service that serves adults aged 60 or older and people with disabilities is being renamed GoWell. This service will still provide dial-a-ride type transportation to riders who meet the eligibility criteria.
ACCESS LINK: ADA Paratransit is being renamed Access Link, but will remain the same service that our community members rely on. Use the button below to see if you’re eligible for Access Link service, or use the interactive map above to find the best way to reach your destination with our revamped fixed routes.
